Weekly wrap #6 : in between trips

It has been a busy week (but then again, when is it NOT a busy week ?) because I was in Istanbul for work. I left Tuesday, got back Thursday evening and am leaving this afternoon for the US. That left about 2,5 days and boy were they busy !

Even with travel, I did manage to exercise a little bit :

  • Monday : tired !
  • Tuesday: travel
  • Wednesday : 6 km run in  Istanbul along the Marmara sea
  • Thursday : travel
  • Friday : 9 km evening run
  • Saturday : 40 minutes of upper body weights & ab work at the gym
  • Sunday : 6, 7 km race

In addition to the exercise, the 2,5 days I was at home were jam packed :

Thursday evening I got back at 7:30 p.m. and had PTA from 8 to 11 p.m.

Friday I suffered through traffic to get to work early because I had early calls followed by meetings back to back. After work I did a ton of personal paperwork (taxes, school stuff, etc.) then went for my run. Did 3 loads of laundry. Cleaned the house (somewhat). Cooked (kind of). Started to pack for the US and watched a couple episodes of Downton Abbey.

On Saturday I got up really early because I am having my bathrooms retiled and the workers were coming at 8:15.

I then spent the rest of the morning cooking. I had a ton of fruits & veggies that had been on my counter for some time and didn’t want them to go to waste. As I knew no one would cook them while I was away, I spent a good 3 hours in the kitchen.

I had brought home apples from our country home a couple weeks back and they were just sitting there…. so I made applesauce, and loaded it with vanilla. It turned out great !

Sweet potato patties from the 21 Day Sugar Detox Cook book. It is steam sweet potato, eggs, butter, a bit of gelatin and coconut flour. SO good !

We went out Saturday night for a friend’s house warming party, and I didn’t drink (much) or (over) eat because I was up at 6 this morning to get ready for my race… recap to follow.

I am linking up with Hoho runs and Misssippipiddlin for their Weekly Wrap up link up. Be sure to check them out and share the blogger love with all the other fun ladies doing the link up !
