Weekend update

I am linking up again with Tara at Running n Reading for the weekend recap. Be sure to check out the other bloggers !

We had another ! three day weekend in France. May 8th is a bank holiday that celebrates the end of WWII. It was a great weekend. I spent a good part of Friday morning looking over races and finalizing my race schedule for the next couple months. I’ m excited !

Friday afternoon my husband and I decided to go to our country home, despite the fact rain was expected. We have a small cottage and we hadn’t been in ages so we decided we should go and make sure it is still standing.

The house was in good shape but the grass was sooooo long and wet. So we mowed, weed wacked and did some general house projects. Even if it was supposed to rain it turned out to be a beautiful 2 days. We even did our first barbecue of the season.

We came back to Paris as we were having friends for dinner.

My husband made an amazing meal.

  • Appetizer : crab with avocado and grapefruit
  • Main course : monkfish with fresh pasta and carrots and a curry sauce

On Sunday I woke up early to go to the pool and swam laps for 75 minutes. My daughter and I ran some errands, I cooked lunch,  did some house chores… typical Sunday things. It was so nice out that my husband and I ended up going for a power walk, through the Vincennes forest, near where we live.  We ended up walking for 7 km.

Sunday was Mother’s Day in the US. This is my favorite picture of my mom and my girls taken last year :

I wrote this Mother’s Day Post last year… and it remains 100% true, always and forever. My mom is great. Positive, kind, a wonderful role model for my girls and I for healthy living. Last year’s post says it all.

Mother’s Day in France is in 2 weeks.

How was your weekend ? Do anything fun ?

Sounds like a nice weekend! Looks like your husband is quite the chef! So nice that he made the meal! I checked out your race schedule, so cool that you will be running the Paris Marathon! I have yet to do a full marathon but if it were something like the Paris Marathon, I would. 🙂
