Weekend away

Almost every January my husband and I go away for a ski weekend. However, not only does skiing take a toll on my knees but I didn’t want to take the chance of injury. So we decided for a weekend away on the French Riviera as I found a race which looked very appealing. So I signed up for a half marathon and we planned 2 days / nights in Nice. Since I had never been to Nice, and was not sure when I might go again, I wanted a nice hotel, with a view.

On Saturday we spent most of the day walking around. We both love the water and there was plenty of eye candy !

We also enjoyed the food and drink fully :

And spent a bit of time watching the waves and walking on the stony beach.

There is plenty of shopping, the charming old city, the marina and TONS of restaurants if you like to eat ! Nice is known for the Promenade des Anglais, but we chose Nice because it was one of the only cities to offer a January race. Recap coming soon!

Even if it was only 2 days, it was definitely “vacation”. I didn’t have to cook, think about meals, do laundry, vacuum or clean. Just 2 full days to enjoy my husband’s company.

Nice is a city with a lot of money, great restaurants and beautiful views. Even if there are a few too many tourists it is definitely worth the trip.
