Happy Monday !
It was a crazy week, so this will be a very random post.
I was in the US all of last week for work, notably in NJ. So I was not in Paris for all of the terrorist action / manhunt / killings. My heart goes out to all the families and friends of the victims, as well as all the French, Parisians and foreigners living in this city.
Besides watching hours of CNN in the US to follow what was going on, here is a bunch of randomness from the week :
When I travel my stomach gets out of whack very easily, so I try not to overindulge. I actually ate many meals from a Whole Foods like market where I could choose veggies, fruit & protein. I only ate at a restaurant twice.
I always take advantage of the hotel’s gym. With the time difference I am up around 5:30 a.m. so I can go early. The gym was not very big, but with a few treadmills, elliptical machines and weights, its enough. I went three out of five days.
Work was very busy, so I didn’t get a chance to do much outside of work and watch CNN. This pretty much sums up the few days :
- It was cold. 7 degrees one day ! That is -14 Celsius.
- We had snow twice. While I am from Maine, and grew up driving in the snow, when it is something you haven’t done for many years, it is not much fun.
- And I forgot that if you leave a bottle of water in the car over night, it will freeze.
I did a little bit of shopping and bought some new workout clothes and sneakers :
I got Brooks GTS sneakers. (I bought new Asics in June and they lasted 3 months. I think they were a bit big, and my foot rubbed the heal, and the material tore. Needless to say, it will be the last time I pay 150 dollars for Asics. The heel ripping happens to me on every Asics shoe.) As there was a lot on sale, I got a great pair of Nike pants, and 2 workout t-shirts.
And I stock up on crazy things like US magazines, peanut butter m&m’s, Crest toothpaste.

It was a good, but cold week !It is always nice to come back though, get back into a routine, eat my regular food and exercise my regular schedule.
