Week in review

Wow, can’t believe it is Saturday morning already ! As usual my week was very busy but I managed to get in some exercise and my meals were relatively healthy, considering I am still only cooking with a microwave at home. Here are some highlights.

Yummy eats at work !

I actually remembered to take a couple photos of lunch this week. I am lucky that I have several options. In my company we have a cafeteria with healthy choices, so I eat there relatively frequently. This week, snapped a picture of tuna, green beans, rice with yogurt and banana. Another day I felt like staying in my office because I needed some down time, so I got a salad from a near by salad bar and also had some yogurt. In my salad : green beans, shredded carrot, beets, broccoli, tuna & egg.

Exercise : better than nothing ! I travelled one day which changes up my organization and my options for exercise, but I did get up early one day to get in a 35 minute tabata work out & Friday evening did my aqua aerobics. I LOVE that class !

Life at home : living in a construction site. As I have mentioned, we are redoing our kitchen. It’s not moving along very quickly. These photos were taken three days apart ! It is supposed to be done today except the oven which will be delivered Tuesday. We’ll see. I did have them hook up our washing machine so I could at least do laundy.

What I loved about the week : days are getting longer and its visible. The light is different, the sun is higher in the sky, its not dark driving home from work. I am sensitive to the light, so longer days make me soooo happy. The second thing is Star Wars. This was on tv this week. I have probably seen this film 20 times.

One thing I did not like about the week : another strike in France. Yes, unfortunately strikes still happen often and not only is it a huge inconvenience but not good for the economy. This week taxis were protesting against new laws allowing private drivers who would directly compete with them. They did a “snail protest” on the periphery boulevard around Paris, which means they drive really slowly and traffic is completely backed up. I got caught in a bit of it.  Not fun.

I also love that the days are getting noticeably longer! We may have a ton of snow, but at least I’m not driving to work in the pitch dark any more!

Ugh, I can’t believe that traffic is on purpose! That’s awful! Guess there will never be any Uber in France!

Enjoy the weekend and I hope the rest of the reno goes well!

They got a lot done on the kitchen but won’t be done until Wed…. we ordered this HUGE stove / oven and it hasn’t been delivered yet. Hopefully Tuesday.

I am excited for more sunshine, too! Slowly but surely the days are getting longer. It’s not longer dark out when I drive to work- woohoo! Now THAT is depressing… getting up in the dark, driving to work in the dark… It’s so much nicer in the spring when it’s sunny and birds are chirping!

I agree, driving to and from work in the dark is so depressing, but spring is coming !

I’m loving how it’s getting lighter earlier in the morning and later in the evening. Makes a huge difference mentally!

My energy levels double as soon as the days get longer. Yeah for spring… one more month.
