Week in random review

I can not believe it is Friday already and it is mid March ! A few more days and it will officially be spring. It was in the mid 60s here in Paris all week, so I consider it spring already (numbers are in Celsius for Friday morning). Look at all that sun !

Monday : off

I was tired on Monday. Its very rare for me because I sleep so well, but the weekend had been busy with the party and I had exercised hard four days in a row, so fatigue caught up.

Tuesday : Jillian Michales DVD

Wednesday : Jillian Michaels DVD

Thursday : 35 minutes of weights at the gym + 10 minutes ab work

Friday : 7 km run. I wanted to keep going but it was getting dark. We have not yet moved our clocks forward.

We ate birthday party left overs at the beginning of the week. We had a ton of left over cheese and I didn’t want to throw it out, so we had cheese at almost every meal :

Here are some very random meals (risotto with veggies and sesame seeds, chicken, roasted veggies and mashed broccoli, pecan encrusted chicken and zucchini) & snacks :

I also got ready to go on a business trip. Some shopping (new spring clothes, yeah !) and packing.

I am also participating in the #happyfitMarch challenge by Happy Fit Mama. She has a small, healthy challenge everyday (behavioral, fitness, food…) and you need to post it on Facebook, Instagram or Pinterest. I am having a really fun time participating. Its not too difficult and look forward to trying something new and see what other people are doing. Day 12 was 15 minutes of yoga, Day 13 was favorite healthy snack and Day 14 was one legged squats. You can check out everything I have done on my twitter account :   @Fit_in_France. Some crazy pictures of my participation :

Finally, I was doing the 21 Day Sugar Detox but I REALLY fell off the wagon this week. Life got a little too complicated with travel and party organisation, and I just did not have the time to prepare, which is key to success. If you don’t anticipate meals, snacks and cooking its practically impossible and I just didn’t have my head around it. I am sure I will do it again one day as I saw so much benefit the first time around, but March was not good timing.

All in all, a very good week. I will be travelling the next few days, so not sure when my next post will be.

How was your week ? How is the weather in your neck of the woods ? Have you ever done a fun fitness challenge ? Have a great weekend !

I also cannot believe how fast the weeks are flying by and that it is already mid-March! First day of spring on Thursday, and not soon enough! This March has definitely come in like a lion, so I hope it starts to turn into a lamb.

Sounds like you’re enjoying the Jillian DVDs! Can’t believe you did it 2 days in a row! I am always be too sore to attempt that!

Does your family eat all of the same foods as you? My husband will eat most of the healthy things I make as he is also very health conscious, but gets wary of weird combinations that I don’t mind (such as throwing some veggies and lentils in mac and cheese, which I realize is weird, but just trying to make an unhealthy dish healthier).

My family does not eat everything I make. They will usually try it, but I always need to anticipate something additional that they will like, just in case… I am also big on wierd combinations and will eat almost anything together.

Cheese at every meal is pretty much my dream! That pecan encrusted chicken looks so delicious! Sounds like a great week overall!
