Vitual Coffee Date : March 2015

I am linking up with Deborah, Coco and Lynda for this month’s virtual coffee date. So grab a chair and let’s chat !

I am so happy to be catching up with you all, I can’t believe spring is around the corner. If we were having coffee, we would probably chat a bit about vacation. I spent two weeks recently in Florida with my husband, kids, parents, brother IL and SIL and it was a great time. I had not seen my brother in a couple years so it was so great catching up. Went out to dinner and my husband and brother just had to taste the beer. I had never seen a taster like this in France.

If we were having coffee, I am sure I would chat about exercising with my parents while on vacation, and how much I enjoy it. Firstly, I did some yoga with my mom. I used to love yoga and did it faithfully for many years, but I stopped a couple years ago due to other priorities. I have been doing some videos and loving it.

I  also walked with my dad 8 times. Walking together is when we connect, and since we live really far apart, I don’t get to walk often enough with him. Our wonderful route :

While chatting with you over coffee I would mention that I am excited but a bit anxious, as I have signed up for a half marathon Easter weekend. I have never done one, only done a 20k race, so this is a big deal for me. I felt I needed some kind of physical / mental objective, and I haven’t been having too many issues with my feet / knees, so the timing just felt right. I found one in Fontainbleau that is both through paths and roads, which appealed to me as running on a road for 21,1km would be nightmarish for my knees. I have put together a training plan and going to try to stick to it even with my travels this month.

Indeed, if we were having coffee, I would actually be pretty happy to have found the time to chat with a friend. Between 2 weeks in Florida and three weeks of professional travel, I will hardly be home in March. Orlando, Basel, Berlin, New York, New Jersey, Raleigh, Las Vegas, Prague… all within a month. I hope I survive the jet lag. As I am getting older, I have a harder time recuperating. I also have a hard time remebering where I park my car in the airport ! Luckily I take a picture of where I leave it :

I would also say that I had a real cup of coffee with my college roommate today in the US. It was so wonderful catching up with her and her husband, another college friend…. It has been years since I had seen her. One of those friendships where you just pick up where you left off.

And finally, I would say I am really excited about spring. The days are getting longer, warmer, and it is just purely my most favorite time of the year.
And I would want to hear about your vacation, how your kids are doing, how your job is going and if you have survived the winter !

      Always enjoy your link up ! Will make it to DC one day… my brother lives in Baltimore and it has been a while since I have been.

    Oh my gosh what a travel schedule! I hope those U.S. cities are on the same trip and not back-and-forth? I love the idea of taking a photo of where you parked, and try to remember to do it. I’ve had a few times where I spent way to much time hunting for my car on the wrong level!

      Haven’t had to go back and forth over the Atlantic too often. Have been in the States now 10 days, I am ready to go home and sleep in my own bed !

    I love that you exercise with the parents. I live 2 blocks from my mom and I can’t get her to do that with me. I am pretty envious of you. A half marathon is very doable. I did my first last year and have a few more for this year, I am hooked. I need at least 8 weeks to train though {my body}. No doubt you will love it. You know, the wine country is a really beautiful place to visit and run by the way 🙂 {hint hint}
    Thank you for the coffee this wonderful day

    WOW! You’ve definitely done a lot of traveling lately! I’m glad in the midst of all of that that you were able to reconnect with your family and your old roomie. That time is so good to reset and get back to center. Hope you’re having a great week so far!
