Virtual coffee date : September

Hello September ! As always, I am happy to catch up with DeborahCoco and the rest of you for this month’s virtual coffee date. So grab a chair and let’s catch up.

The-Ultimate-Coffee-Date2

I am so glad we ware having coffeewe haven’t sat down since end of June, and the summer has been crazy !

Over coffee … we would probably chat about kids. Do you have kids ? Are they back in school ? My girls are a sophomore and a senior. They are both such wonderful young ladies with a passion for life. I am excited to see where this year and beyond will take them. Of course it makes me sad my eldest might be leaving home next year (in Paris many kids live at home while they study) but they are both such interesting, fun, thoughtful young ladies.

If we were having coffee we might chat about work. September will be a relatively slow month. I do not have to travel besides one or two day trips.

Things have been slow since I came back from vacation and I am having a hard time finding my motivation. Don’t get me wrong. I love my job and am so lucky for all the opportunities I have and love my colleagues, but so many people are still in vacation mode, its hard to get back in the groove. Look how empty it is !

Over coffee I would tell you …I’m quite excited to see my podiatrist this coming Monday. While I am not having major issues, my right knee / lower leg is just off. Since my orthodics were done 18 months ago,  it is time for a new pair. This guy is so great. He will continue to adjust my orthodics until they are perfect.

Over coffee, we might chat about marathon training and fall races. What is on your schedule ?  I have a 6,7 km race with my colleagues next Sunday, and otherwise, NYC marathon training is in full swing. It is going well, but I am glad that we are having cooler temps.

What would you like to chat about over coffee ?

Races ? Kids ? Pets ? The US election (let’s avoid that topic !)

My training is just barely hanging in there — it’s been incredibly challenging to get out for a run this week & next week will be no better. I’m REALLY hoping I can get back at it the following week.

I know I really ought to find a podiatrist . . . it’s a time thing! I hope he is able to take care of those niggles for you.

    I need some downtime. I really, really need some . . .

What a beautiful picture of you and your daughters. Your doing great and boy does it show in that Instagram picture you posted showing those muscles. Love it!
I am worried about the election and that is all I’m going to say about that topic.
How about some fun? I’m in Orlando for the long weekend and I’m going to make it even longer as we’re not leaving until Tuesday. Why am I here? For some college football! Woop, welcome Fall activities.

Have a great time in Orlando, glad that you avoided the very bad weather !

Your girls are so beautiful! <3
Your podiatrist also looks like a great doctor and looks just like how I would picture a Parisian man. Love it! I hope your knee and lower leg issues go away quickly!

Well, I have the the Beach Raid (obstacle course on the beach) coming up a week from today. Am I ready for it? I am going to say no! I developed plantar fascitis about 4 weeks ago and it is finally getting better and knowing how much I trained for this last year compared to now… lets say it will be intersting! Great pic of you and the girls!

Sorry Tammi about your foot… PF is no fun. Try to have a good time anyways…

Summer is always crazy! My kiddo is WAY too youth for school yet…but we live in a college town, so we know when school starts (and when there are breaks, long weekends, finals, etc.). Our summer is relatively mild at work, but this time of the year is getting into our “busy season”… Good luck at NYC! I am not training for a specific race, but “training” to keep my endurance up for pacing half marathons this fall 🙂 Nice to meet you at the UCD this month!

Love that pic of you with your lovely girls! You’re so funny taking a pic with your podiatrist. Does he know he’s making a cameo appearance on your blog? I hope he’s able to resolve that leg niggle.

That picture of us is from about a year ago but I am so grateful to him, he always fixes my hip / foot / knee issues. He is the best.

Your daughters are STUNNING. The picture of you with both of them is my favorite!!! Hurray for seeing the podiatrist – I hope he’s able to help you work through all the kinks!!! I can relate to how hard it is to get back into the swing of things after vacation, too. Good luck on your upcoming 6.7K race and yay that NYCM training is going well!!! Cooler temps make a HUGE difference, for sure!!!

Yeah, my doctor is young and doesn’t mind that kind of thing.
