Virtual coffee date : October

October already ! I am linking up with DeborahCoco and Lynda for this month’s virtual coffee date. So grab a chair and let’s catch up !

If we were having coffee, I would like to know if you survived the “back to school” craziness ? Even if you don’t have kids, September has that feeling of renewal, with the start of new activities, a new routine, new possibilities.

On this side of the Atlantic, so far, so good. My kids are now a freshman and a junior, both are very happy in school and have some new activities on their agenda.

We celebrated my youngest’s birthday this month. How did that happen ?

If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I have NO travel for the month to come. Yeah ! June, July, August and September were crazy, so I am glad to stick close to home for the next 4 weeks. In September I did make it to Istanbul and the US, and was in Princeton, NJ for a couple days. Gorgeous.

If we were having coffee, I am sure we would talk about running. I had 2 races this past month that I fully enjoyed, Paris Versailles 16K and La Parisienne.  I have physically been feeling good with very little knee or shin pain. I have been doing strength training, and faithfully stretching. Physically, I am feeling quite bada$$ !

Over coffee, house projects would be discussed. Coordinating projects is such a pain, but the end result is always so satisfactory. I had both of my bathrooms re-tiled and I also got rid of a couch. We got a new couch over a year ago, and I had been trying to give the old one away ever since. With so many people moving into new apartments in September, I was sure I would find a taker. After several close calls, no luck.  I couldn’t stand that green couch taking up space in my living room anymore. I had friends over one Monday night and they helped us put it out in the street, (because the city comes around every Tuesday morning to pick up big objects). Yes. It was about time.

Over coffee we would talk about the Paris Marathon. Training starts Monday !

I would want to know what’s new with you ! How was your month ?

Thank you ! So many great things to look forward to. I have a week off mid October, that I will use to paint out the second bathroom and decorate. Looking forward to finishing. But at least the tile is done and I love it.

Love reading your blog! September was a good month. Kids are back to a normal routine.
October starts a busy next 6 mos for me…as hockey will be in full swing

I successfully completed the obstacle course race. It was so much fun. The HARDEST part was running in the deep sand…wow is all I can say. My biggest fear is that I would not be able
to complete the monkey bars, but I did!! All that training for them paid off. I just signed up to do a Fit for 5k which happens on Oct 24. It is a residential run which goes through the streets in my neighborhood. I have always wanted to do it…so now I am. The entry fee raises money for Special Olympics. Have a great weekend!

I’m happy to finally be going somewhere! I haven’t been anywhere since May. Most boring summer ever.

Glad to hear no knee pain! Isn’t it a great feeling to have no niggling pains?

Yay for the start of your marathon training! So excited to cheer you on.

We just bought a new couch, although it hasn’t been delivered yet. I’m thinking our old one is going to end up on the street for trash pickup. It’s awful. recently posted…Ultimate Coffee Date OctoberMy Profile

I tried to give my couch to college kids but the apartments here are small and it wouldn’t fit through the door ! LOL
      Thanks for following.

Seriously ? too funny ! I went to buy some things in the running store and they asked if I wanted to run the half marathon. Alas, I will be too far away ! It is not my usual destination but if I do come again, I’ll let you know.
