Virtual Coffee date : July

Happy July 4th weekend ! I am linking up again with Deborah, Coco and Lynda for this month’s virtual coffee date. So grab a chair and let’s catch up over coffee !

If we were having coffee, I would talk about Maine and how happy I am to be spending the weekend here. I was travelling in the US this past week for work, so flew up to spend the weekend with my parents, and my girls, who are with their grandparents for the month of July. Besides a race early Saturday morning, and having lunch looking out over the water one day, I have planned nothing. Just want to take advantage of quality time and see some friends & family.

Over coffee I am sure we would chat about vacation. Are you taking any ? In France, I usually take 3 weeks, and will be doing so the beginning of August. We will be staying in France, and greatly looking forward to the down time. Life is crazy !

If we were having coffee I would like to know if you have any special fitness plans during the summer ? Road race ? Golf tournament ? Triathalon ? Have you started training for a fall marathon or other special race ? How is your training going ? I have not started any specific training plan, just trying to take advantage of the nice weather and long days, keeping active. Just did my last race here in the US yesterday, and nothing on the calendar until beginning of September.

If we were having coffee I am sure we would talk a bit about travelling. June was crazy for me. London, NY, Moscow…. its nice to travel but is also nice to come home to a routine.

Over coffee I would tell you I have discovered Nuun. So good. Being in the US I have stocked up because it has yet to come to France. I have also discovered Features socks. I can not get them in France either !

Over coffee I would probably tell you a story about this really.big.coincidence. Recently I was talking with a colleague from Belgium. We have known each other for several years but do not work in the same office so have never sat down to really talk about our personal lives. We spent some time together recently and I told her I was from Maine. She said oh ? I know a town in Maine… its called… and she names my home town. What ?! How would this girl from Belgium happen to know someone in my home town in Maine ? Well it turns out that her sister was an exchange student back in the 80s and spent a year with a family in my home town. She was 2 years ahead of my in high school and I actually remembered her. Isn’t that crazy ?!

And finally, if we were having coffee I would like to know what you did for the fourth. Friends ? Family ? Fireworks ? Boating ? Cookout ? That pretty much sums up my day, except the fireworks, which I am not particularly a fan of.

I am really looking forward to the month of July ! I love this time of year. What does your July look like ? Any special plans ?
