If we were having coffee I would want to know if you survived the holidays ? It is always a crazy time. I made a point not to over schedule, over promise or over do, so as of January 2nd, I am feeling pretty good, both physically and mentally, ready to go into the new year. If you are interested in French holiday traditions, check out my post here.

If we were having coffee, I would want to know what goals you have set for yourself this year ? My 2016 goals revolve around running and my health, but I also want to travel to two new cities and save & plan for a big vacation.

Over coffee I am sure we would talk about running. How was your 2015, fitness wise ? I ran the most I ever have, 1 156 km (718 miles). I admire those who do triathlons and who ran over 1 000 miles, I don’t know if my body could handle all that exercise.

I am in the middle of training for the Paris Marathon and my mileage is slowly increasing. I have been running faithfully a minimum of 3 times a week since October 1st, with the distance of my weekend runs getting longer, every other week. I am using the Galloway run /walk method, which is kind to my knees, and the very gradual increase in mileage is definitely working for me. Last weekend I did 17 miles through the streets of Paris. 20 miles on the plan next Saturday.

The only difficult part was the cobblestones :

Over coffee, I would tell you that my mom is here for 12 days and we have been having a really great time. I was so happy she could come and spend some of the holidays with us. Of course we never sit still, so we have organized 4 closets, rearranged my buffet / dishes, cleaned my balconies, did a puzzle, played cards, took down the Christmas decorations, walked, visited with friends & family, went to Normandy for a day… I hope when I am her age I have the same energy level. She is amazing.

Finally, yesterday was my two year blogversary ! Thank you for reading, following and commenting, I greatly appreciate the support, positive energy and sense of community.

So all in all, it was a good month. Over coffee, what would you want to chat about ?

Your run through Paris is gorgeous!

Oh, gosh, I tackled our linen closet yesterday, but I really need to tackle our chest of table linens — it’s overstuffed with ones we hardly use!

Just went through one more cupboard. When my mom is on a roll, nothing stops her… but I love it. Makes me feel lighter and more energetic. Feng shui ? maybe…

Good for you with the scheduling. I completely over scheduled myself before I left and was a crazy mess! That lesson is never learned for me. Have a wonderful time with your mom! Thanks for stopping by for coffee!

When I over schedule, I try to enjoy the aftermath and not having to do a thing. Rest up !

Thanks Lynda ! So much to see & do here, despite the awful attacks this year. But things are back to normal you would hardly know anything happened. Have a wonderful year !

I also survived the holidays – for us, it was mostly traveling, a little relaxing, and then driving home. I also posted about my resolutions – mostly health, running/fitness, and family related 🙂 I was able to run 1750 miles last year and have the goal to run 2016 miles this year. I am training for my first marathon in the spring! Happy new year!

Paris will be a breeze for you..you already know the city! That’s how I feel about Chicago. It’s nice to run a challenging race in a place you call home.

Home court advantage. You are right, the familiarity should definitely help.

Congrats on your blogiversary! Sounds like your training is going well…I still regret not being able to go on any runs when I visited Paris a couple of years ago, need to go back! Enjoy your time with your mom!

I loved running in Paris, but would not do it often. Running IN Paris is not that runner friendly, unless you run along the river. We are lucky to have some major wooded areas in and around Paris which is where I usually run.

Love your Paris pics – keep em coming.

I ran 969 miles – the most for me ever.

Your mom sounds great – you are very lucky.

You will rock your marathon – I know it!

Happy Blogiversary! I so enjoy reading about your life in Paris! You are doing so well with your marathon training. I’m excited for your 20 mile run. You’ll do great. I’m not much on setting goals. My plan is to get through this marathon, rest, and make a few plans then. I would like to run in a few new states (or countries!). Happy New Year!

Good luck this Sunday, I will be thinking of you.
I am surprised how well I am liking having a training plan to follow. I plan and schedule so much at work, that my exercise is usually more winging it, but I am truly enjoying the structure.

I am going to try the Galloway method for some long runs and try to save my legs. I am fearful of getting injured again. My run yesterday went really well 🙂 Happy Blogiversary!!
