Thinking out loud : thankfulness

I have not done a Thursday is for thinking out loud post with Amanda for a while, so I figured today would be a good time. I am feeling happy, healthy, rested and motivated, so I am titling this thankfulness !  Get ready for my brain dump !

I am generally feeling blessed at the moment for so many reasons….

Travel ! I just got back from almost 2 weeks of travel and while business travel is always a bit tiring, I feel extremely blessed to have this opportunity. I started off in Mexico and finished in Fort Lauderdale, two places I had never seen before. While I was at each for a conference, I got to take some advantage of the local sights.

Family ! My kids and husband are great… I have been away but came home to a (relatively) clean house, stocked fridge and very little laundry.

Technology ! Even if I was away, I got to Skype or FaceTime with my family. Seeing each other makes the distance so much more tolerable.

My parents ! In between Mexico and Fort Lauderdale I stopped to see my parents for 2 days. They are healthy, happy and loving life as they age.

Airline lounges ! With all the traveling, being able to sit in a quiet area, have a glass of wine and internet access is so wonderful. The lounge in Atlanta had a patio where we could watch the planes (and sunset).

Positive reinforcement from bloggers / friends / social media ! I have my first marathon in less than 2 weeks and the encouragement and positive vibes sent my way has been unbelievable.  Everyone has been amazing.

Momentum jewelry ! I am LOVING this bracelet that I received from Sue at This Mama Runs for Cupcakes.

The spring like weather ! Of course it was gorgeous in Florida, but back in France we have clear skies, bright sun and its warm, without the Florida humidity.

What are you feeling thankful for at the moment ?

That’s great that you came back home to a clean house! It makes the end of vacation so much easier to deal with. And I can’t believe it’s only 2 weeks until your marathon! You’re going to rock it 🙂

2 weeks! Wow, time flies. Just get through the taper & you’re there!

Spring is rapidly running away from us with a prediction for some snow showers in the coming week. But I can’t complain, we barely had a winter (which makes me super happy).

Your first marathon is in two weeks! How exciting! I used to travel for work and felt the same way–it’s tiring but I was grateful for the opportunity. Your family is awesome for having things taken care of when you came back!

Sleeping in is a great reason to be thankful indeed. Sleeping in for me is 7 a.m. LOL. And with readjusting to the time zone difference, I HAVE to get up early, or else I am completely out of whack for days. Hope you have a great weekend.

I’m so excited for you! I want to run another marathon — healthy this time. I need to select it soon. I love your bracelet. I won one and picked “dig deep” as my saying. It looks and sounds like you had a wonderful trip, but I know you are also glad to get back to your family…and much less humidity.
