Thinking out loud : November randomness

I am linking up with Amanda and  Thursday is for thinking out loud. I was traveling this week and had some time to myself so here are some of the very random thoughts that went through my mind over the past few days.

Holy Cow ! I just realized that Christmas is in 8 weeks. That is really scary. I usually anticipate things very well and do all my shopping before November 15th but not this year. I am travelling for work the first 2 weeks of this month, so not sure when I will be able to get my shopping in, or anticipate my cards !

Will politicians ever change ?  Seriously, what is wrong with these people ? Whether it be in France or in the US, I am really sick and tired of finger pointing, blaming the other party. Why can’t politicians just spend time finding solutions for the people rather than spending time on their own personal agendas. Now I can understand why no one wants to get involved in politics anymore with your private life splayed all over the news and media, but please. Didn’t these people leave 3rd grade at some point ?

Vacation. I am already thinking dreaming about my vacation plans for next year. Rome. Amsterdam. Maine. Greece. So many places, such a tough choice. The same goes for my 20 year wedding anniversary. We would like to take a second honeymoon, somewhere warm, but nothing really jumps out at us. Any suggestions ?

Wasn’t the fall wonderful. We have had great temps and very little rain here in Europe in September and October and it has carried over into November. Loving it !

Isn’t it great to be able to run pain free!? I have faithfully been running 3 to 4 times a week with marathon training and so far I am 100% pain free. That is strongly suggesting that I have picked a training plan that works for me.

I am glad I said no. I knew that with marathon training this year, something had to give. I decided to give up my position in the PTA / school board I was on. Whoa. I loved it but best.decision.ever. It has freed up my evenings and taken away a lot of hurrying and meetings.

Any random thoughts to share ? What have you said no to lately ?

We try to think about pictures during our summer vacation in order to anticipate but we didn’t do well on that this year ! So now I need to think about a collage or something.

I honestly can’t believe that Christmas is so soon! I’m hoping that I can get my Christmas shopping done early this year since I usually wait till the last second to do it and end up getting all stressed out.

I try to anticipate as much as possible because December is so stressful.

I love this whole post! Your vacation plans sound amazing!! I’m hoping our vacation plans include a trip to Disneyland next year. We’ll see.
I also love that you said no to the PTA this year. I totally know how that goes! I love to volunteer, but it’s hard to do everything!!! I figure there is a time and place for everything and I’ll volunteer more in a few years.
I also can’t believe how quickly Christmas is coming! My kids keep reminding me how many days we have until Christmas and it’s stressing me out!!! 😉
Oh, and how I wish I could run right now. I’m so happy for you and your pain free marathon training though. That’s so so great!!!

Disney is so much fun. I still remember my first trip to Florida with my family when I was young, such great memories. Disneyland Paris is only about 30 minutes from where I live and my teenagers go with friends. I no longer want to go – can’t stand the lines !

The US Virgin Islands! We had a blast on the island of St. John for an anniversary. It’s much quieter than St. Thomas. Beautiful beaches, water and fantastic snorkeling. It alarms me how many weeks are left before Christmas — not nearly enough! I am in more pain now not running (hips) than when I run. Go figure.

US Virgin Islands might be an option ! I have never been there. Sorry about your hips. Is it because you are using them differently ? I hope this pain free thing lasts for me but you never know.

I backed off school PTA stuff this year too. Huge sigh of relief not to have that hanging over my head. Yay for feeling great and running injury free. That is huge! Wendy and Holly made great warm vacay suggestions. Either would be awesome!
