Ski weekend – part 1

Hello everyone ! How is your week going ? I went away for the weekend which is why I have been MIA for a few days…

My husband and I went away for 4 nights for a fabulous ski weekend in the Alps. We had a great opportunity with my husband’s company and we could not pass it up. Often in big companies in France, weekends are organized for the employees and their spouses (though we pay !) and everything is planned… transportation, lodging, food.

We left Thursday evening from the Lyon train station. I stocked up on American magazines knowing I would actually have time to read them.

Once there, we were not disappointed. The hotel was very quaint – all wood, big St. Bernard, lovely wood stove… typical of the French Alps.

Being from Maine, I love the winter and was happy that it snowed three of the four days. The station was in both France and Italy so we got to ski in the two countries.  39 ski lifts, 90 trails…. fresh snow. I strongly recommend this station if you are looking for a smaller, family oriented site.

The town was very quaint, with footpaths and typical mountain architecture.

And of course we got to ski !! I get very cold quickly and we were so lucky that the temps were around 32 degrees Fahrenheit. However, I still bought some warmers that you stick in your gloves. These things were amazing !

It was great spending time with my husband and actually having the time to connect without having to think of errands, cooking, kids, the cat, the housework.

It is such a change of scenery, batteries get recharged and the fresh air does wonders for my energy and mood ! Second post to follow soon with the yummy eats and some fun photos.

Where do you spend time recharging your batteries ? what kind of weather works wonders on your mood ?

Oh my goodness! That looks so lovely! That would definitely recharge my batteries. Being out and about in nature, away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, makes me feel better. It’s been FREEZING here in Massachusetts (single digits, with “real feel” being in the negatives!). I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I would love a 30 degree day!
