I am linking up with Marcia at Marcia’s Healthy Slice for Runfessions. It is that time of the month to get everything off your chest. Because I am running the NYC marathon in a little more than a week, that race is pretty much top of mind for all things running. So here goes ….
Dear NYC marathon….I runfess…
…. I don’t want to jinx myself, but I am ready for you. I feel really really good about my last 2 long runs and I have been having no knee pain what so ever. So, while I may not be the fastest, I am confident about being able to go the distance. I’m coming for you !
…. I have already started stalking the weather. For the moment, it is looking good but it has been fluctuating between the fifties and sixties. So far, no rain announced. Can you ask Mother Nature to keep the rain away ? (12 degrees Celsius is 56°F)
… I haven’t started preparing much for the logistics of the race. I know what time I need to catch my bus, I know what time I start and I know I start on the top of the bridge, but the rest of the details ? I will manage this weekend.
…I am looking forward to seeing Darlene and Judy

…. I am looking forward to not only running in NYC but playing tourist with my husband. We haven’t been to the city together since our honeymoon over 20 years ago. These photos are from our visit (and I runfess I had to go through 10 photo albums to find them). I think they were taken on the boat going to Ellis Island.
….I am looking forward to not training through the winter. I ran this week in the dark, on wet leaves. I was the only one out. It wasn’t much fun.

…I have been unfaithful to my running, and have been doing 2 to 3 other workouts during the week. Lifting, leg work, full body workout… yes, I am craving variety. This is one of the things that I am looking forward to once the race is over.
…. while I was running intervals this week, I stopped to walk and this guy came by and said “keep on going, you have been pacing me”. I felt pretty flattered.
