Its June ! How did that happen ?
It was another great and busy weekend. Sunday evening at 8:45 p.m. is the only time I sit all weekend. Chicago Fire Department is on tv (I LOVE that show), and I prepare this post for the weekend linkup with Tara at Running n Reading. Be sure to check her and other bloggers out. A peak into the last 2 days :
Friday evening I went to my aqua gym class. I hadn’t been in a while and the season is ending in a couple weeks. I was happy to see my fun group of ladies.
Saturday morning was spent at the hardware store. Recently I painted my bathroom and now I need to pick out tile. I am also having the kid’s bathroom retiled…. but gosh, I thought picking out paint was hard. Tile is worse. It all looks the same.
That afternoon I had a 10K race, La Marollaise (race recap). It was a small race, about 30 miles south of Paris and 90% of it was through the woods. We had perfect weather, although a bit hot that time of day and I felt slightly dehydrated. As the race was through the woods, the organizing committee had spray painted any rocks, roots or other items protruding from the ground so that runners would see them and wouldn’t trip. Isn’t that a great idea ?
I wasn’t sure if my GPS was off or if the race distance was off but I finished 9,67 km in 56′ 48”. I wanted to finish in under one hour, so I was satisfied with my performance.
I do not know how I placed as the results are not yet posted, but you can tell by my smile that I was really happy with my performance.
We were having friends over that night but driving (back) into Paris on a Saturday evening means major traffic. It took me twice the time to get home. I am so lucky to have this guy …
…he prepared everything for our dinner party and the house was picked up ! Luckily because I got home 15 minutes before our guests arrived. They brought me this fabulous bouquet.
Sunday morning I got up, cleaned the kitchen ! then went to the gym to lift weights and stretch, since I hadn’t done so properly after my race Saturday. It was Mother’s Day in France. My girls got me this runner’s journal (which I am so excited to use on my journey to Paris Marathon 2016) and chocolates.
I then spent several hours swapping winter clothes for summer clothes and doing some major cleaning, trying to get things picked up. The week had been crazy and since we had been away last weekend, suitcases were still hanging around, laundry needed to be done and the fridge needed to be filled.
How was your weekend ? Did you race ?
