How is your weekend going ? I am spending a rainy Sunday at home doing some reading and watching a movie with my girls, who have been on vacation the past 2 weeks. Back to school for them tomorrow, and back to work for me, after a 3 day weekend.
With the rain I had lots of time to cook this weekend, and managed to run, between two rain showers. Here is how last week went :
- Monday / Tuesday : off
- Wednesday : 45 minutes of cardio (elliptical / bike / hills on the treadmill) + 20 minutes of upper body weights
- Thursday : 45 minutes on the treadmill + ab work + lots of stretching
- Friday : off
- Saturday : 1 hour 40 minute run / walk outside, between the rain showers
- Sunday : one hour swimming laps at the pool
As I am going to be using the run / walk / run method for my marathon training, and Jeff Galloway suggests Cross Training the day after the long run, I thought the pool would be perfect on Sunday. I was a bit apprehensive that my muscles would be tired after 14 km , so I thought 30 minutes in the pool would be enough. Well, I had really stretched and foam rolled after the long run, and slept very well, so seeing how great I felt, I ended up doing 60 minutes of laps.
With a rainy three day weekend here, I had time to cook some yummy meals :
