What a fantastic weekend ! Firstly, spring has sprung. The cherry blossoms in my street are in bloom :
And we had great weather, probably a bit too hot, for the Paris Marathon which was Sunday morning. Over 41 000 participated, and there were over 40 000 finishers, a record. I loved reading the tweets and seeing the pictures of the experience on social media. Check out #parismarathon.
I spent 90 minutes cheering on the participants. With the nice weather there were a lot of people out cheering on the participants, over 135 nationalities were running. I saw people from France (duh), Italy, Spain, Japan, China, the US, Canada, Australia, Sweden, Finland, Germany, Belgium, Korea, Philippines, Argentina, the UK…. Congrats to all !
Otherwise, I spent Saturday morning at the Paris Running Expo and had a GREAT time. I had Asics electronically measure my gait and do a ” Foot ID”, I sat in on a live radio show where they interviewed someone from the marathon organizational committee, Asics Marketing Director, analysts, I visited several booths from brands you don’t easily find in France, and even learned that Run Disney is organizing their first race in September 2016.
The whole marathon atmosphere made me seriously consider doing it next year ! We’ll see….
The rest of the weekend was spent cooking, but I did get in a nice walk with my hubby along the river next to our place :
I have a very busy week. We have an exchange student from Spain here for a week, then I have friends for the US coming for a week.
How was your weekend ? Do you like watching a race ?
