New kitchen – we love it !

I love cooking and my husband loves cooking. I am no good at baking any kind of dessert but I can make a pretty decent meal. I learned quickly that if I want to eat clean and have some control over what goes into my body, cooking was necessary.

We moved into our appartement about 18 months ago. The building was 12 years old, and the kitchen had not been updated or remodeled. It was in good working condition, functional, but not to my taste and the appliances were getting old and were not very efficient.

So we embarked on a new kitchen project… I consulted several kitchen companies and finally went with a small, family owned company who had done the kitchen of a friend. We moved everything into the living room so they could work. Poor cat was quite distressed with all the activity and empty cabinets.

We painted, redid the tile, moved the sink…

… but most of all got a great new stove. There are 5 burners and 3 ovens (regular oven, broiler and plate warmer…). Getting this stove was my husband’s condition for agreeing to redo the kitchen.

So after about 2,5 weeks of work, we are very happy with the finished product. Still needs a backsplash behind the stove (the holes were made to pass wires), we  need to decorate, add some final touches, rearrange the cupboards, but at least we can cook !

Have you done any home improvement projects lately ? Do you like to cook ? Do you prefer baking to cooking ?

Yay! You must be so happy to have your kitchen back! And the stove sounds great! It must feel so good to have it done.
