What a wonderful weekend ! We had perfect weather, and I took full advantage of it.
I got up early on Saturday morning. I wanted to go to the gym but was not planning on running. But it was so nice out. Bright blue sky, warm temps…. so I decided to run. It was early, before 8 a.m., I faithfully did my dynamic warm up and headed out. My view when arriving at my favorite running spot, hardly anyone out yet :
I wanted to go to the gym, so I decided on a short 6 km before heading over to do some weights. I had to stop a couple times and walk, my knee just was not cooperating.
I did some weights at the gym then headed to the market. All the fruits & veggies are out, I bought fresh melon and the first yellow nectarines of the year. I then went and bought some bread. This guy was in front of me in line. Too cute (not sure if that is really the right word…).
After lunch, we quickly packed up and headed to the countryside. We have a small house about 90 minutes from Paris. We hadn’t been in a couple weeks…. the grass was so overgrown and we discovered this, a huge branch from our Lebanese Cedar tree. This is about the 5th HUGE limb that has fallen, despite the fact we have had the tree trimmed several times.
We are so lucky that someone has never gotten injured or our car has not gotten crushed because we park underneath it. I immediately got to work on the yard, it REALLY needed mowing….
And we finished off the day with a barbecue. When we bought our house a few years back, the very FIRST thing we bought was an “American” BBQ. Many people in France still have BBQs that you make with charcoal. I prefer the convenience of a gas grill.
Unfortunately, my knee was off and was really painful in the evening. Probably a combination of the run plus mowing… going to take it easy for a few days.
Grilling, lawn mowing, early runs…. all summer activities ! Yeah!
How was your weekend ? Do you like to BBQ ?
