Jam packed week

June is probably the craziest month of the year. Though September is pretty close. These are months that school starts and finishes, add in extra curricular activities, travel for work, and a soccer tournament, and yes, things are a tad crazy. Here are nine random things about my week :

No running for 6 days ! I hadn’t run from Sunday to Saturday, due to a small Pesky leg problem. It was really really hard to force myself to stay in and rest my leg. Really.hard.

Rain. Rain. Rain. We had crappy weather, which made me regret a little less not running.

Planking and push ups. While I didn’t do 100 every day (which was the objective), I got pretty close. I usually do 10 to 15 push ups on my toes, then 20 additional on my knees. Repeat 3 times in the evening.

Important work events. I have been really preoccupied by two major things going on at work. This resulted in my almost missing my train on Thursday because I was convinced I was leaving at 10:30 but the train was actually at 7:20 ! My mind was elsewhere….

Soccer. The Euro2016 tournament has started, being hosted by France this year. It has been fun to watch the games, and there are references to soccer wherever you go. #euro2016

Mud. I finally got the OK to run on Sunday, and I had a 15K race. Well, because of all the rain we have had, it was a mud fest. Luckily only portions were muddy and not the whole race. Check back this week for the recap.

5:30 a.m. Four days in a row I needed to get up early. Well, I generally am an early bird, but 5:30 a.m. is a tad  wee early. After 4 days of early mornings and a 15K on Sunday, I was wiped !

Family. My SIL and nieces have arrived back in France for the summer. They live abroad so we are so happy to have them back.

Kids. My eldest daughter received a national award for a comic strip she did, so there was an awards ceremony Saturday.

And that’s a wrap !

I am linking up with Holly and Tricia at Hoho runs and Misssippipiddlin for their Weekly Wrap.

Tell me one random thing about your week !

    Congrats to your daughter!

5:30 is actually late for me — I’d love to sleep later but my body just won’t let me. However, I go to bed much earlier than you.

How was your leg after the race?

You & Darlene will get along just fine — you’re both energizer bunnies!

My most random thing probably having a turkey stick, popcorn & a protein ball for dinner last night . . .

My leg is fine but I was generally quite stiff. Running in the mud was hard. I feel like I have been through the wringer.
I am excited to meet Darlene. Sorry you couldn’t join us.
Sunday night is our evening for random dinners. Everyone does & gets their own thing.

What a busy week indeed, looking forward to the race recap! Work has been extremely busy for me too, with so many meetings and things to keep up with. I’m ready for things to wind down! That’s awesome that your family will be visiting you over the summer. And congrats to your daughter!

We are so happy our family is here. We get along so well and miss them. One more year and they’ll be moving back to France.

Wow, congrats to your daughter on her award. She must have been so pleased. It seems like everyone is dealing with little or big injuries at the moment. Staying healthy as a runner has it’s challenges. Good job though with your pushups and planks.

Yes my daughter was very pleased, she worked for over 3 months on the story line and drawings.

  4. Congrats to your daughter how nice for her! Hope your leg is feeling better this week. Not running is stressful when it is so much a part of your routine

Congratulations to your daughter! That is so awesome!

I love the picture you have of your plank, with the futbol in the background! It seems everywhere I go, there is a soccer game somewhere!

Can’t wait to hear about the 15K!

Yes, soccer is everywhere… and on most evening when I plank ! I don’t usually like it / watch much but the Euro 2016 atmosphere is lots of fun.

Well first off, that does sounds like a packed week and I also send congratulations to your daughter. Part of my full time job includes illustration and comics can be a tough balance of art and topic! Random thing from my week… hmmm… I met with an author friend about illustrating his second children’s book. It’s about silly monsters so it should be fun! Have a great week 🙂

I didn’t realize you were an illustrator. Illustrating something with monsters would be very fun !

I agree with June always being a crazy month. I’m exhausted. Congrats to your daughter on her award! A random thing from last week: I went to watch my grandson’s play in his All Star baseball game. During the game, I visited the restroom. When I returned, I sat down in the wrong stands at the wrong game. My husband had to come and get me. Where was my mind? In my defense, they all looked the same. Thanks for linking with us Karen!

LOL about you sitting in the wrong place. That is too funny. I think it is just lack of concentration from having too much going on in our brains. June will do that to you !

Wow, your June is crazy! I’m glad you were given the okay to run. I sure hope your leg problem can just go away and stay away! I hate injuries!! That is so cool about your daughter. What a fun experience for her! Oh, and I loooooove your planking and push ups. I need to start that!

It has been crazy. And its not going to stop for a few more days.

  9. Tricia @ MissSippipiddlin June 22, 2016 at 6:28 pm Reply

Great job on your planking and push ups. Because I went to strength training and took a circuit HIIT class in the same day I got in just over 100 push ups and man my arms were like jelly. I so need to do them more often, but finding motivation is hard.
I too have been getting up at 5:45 while in Jackson to get in my runs. Even at 11PM at night it’s still hot on the concrete from all day.
Random: I’ve lost 3lbs in about 2 weeks and I hope I do not find them!!! 🙂

LOL, love the random fact. Hope you don’t find what you lost either.
Good job in keeping up with your fitness with all your summer activities!
