We have been in Florida now for over a week. In France we have two weeks of school vacation and so we came to Florida for almost 2 weeks to spend time with my parents, who rent a house for a couple months, to get away from the cold, Maine weather.
This past week was quite low key, the second week will be a bit fuller. So I have taken advantage of the time to exercise almost every day.
Past week’s exercise :
- Sunday : one hour power walk
- Monday : one hour power walk
- Tuesday : one hour run /walk
- Wednesday : one hour run / walk
- Thursday : off
- Friday : one hour power walk + ab work + weights
- Sunday : one hour power yoga + 50 minute run / walk
I have been doing a run / walk combination because 1) I have had great company to walk with and so we talk and 2) we are running on pavement and if I do too much I will hurt my knees.
Cooking has been a bit tougher, because we don’t have our usual knives and utensils. I have been eating salads quite a bit and did have some gluten free pasta the other night.
My favorite meal though has been breakfast. Usually some kind of egg (hard boiled or scrambled) with some veggies, or protein, possibly a piece of toast, or fruit or yogurt. The US has so much more choice for Greek yogurt, so I have been trying out the different flavors. I have seen on a line a special edition, green tea, but have not yet found it in stores. I had green tea ice cream when I visited China last year and loved it, so I would really like to try the flavored yogurt.
This week is going to be a bit crazier because my brother and his wife are coming for a few days, as is my aunt. Definitely crazier but so much fun !
