January 1st marked the first year anniversary of my blog, French Inspiration. Firstly, a VERY BIG THANK YOU, I appreciate you stopping by and reading !
Even after one year, I still consider my blog very new, and I not even sure I would call myself a blogger. With a full time job, two teenagers, and the rest of life in general, the blog definitely gets the back seat. I started this blog because as I got older, healthy living is a very important part of my life and who I am, and I wanted to :
1) keep myself accountable,
2) hopefully inspire others to live a healthy life,
3) keep my friends & family who live in the US a peak into my world.
I have definitely met the first and third objectives and am hoping that I have inspired someone somewhere along the way this year.
Looking back on this first year, here are a few of my favorite posts.
Races : I like to race for the fun of it but in France we do not have as many race choices as in the US. Running more races is part of my 2015 goals. Two of my favorites this year :
Apple Pear Road Race race with my brother in law (despite the POURING rain). We look like drowned rats.
La Parisienne with my colleagues. Much better weather !
Link ups : a fun way to introduce variety into a blog and it helps me discover other blogs. I have been most faithful to Friday Five link up with Courtney, Mar, and Cynthia. I always look forward to this because they have such fun themes.
I have also linked up a few times with Deborah at Confessions of a Mother Runner, for a Meatless Monday post, or virtual coffee date. Once again, variety !
And I admit it, link ups make things a bit easier, providing post ideas.
Food ! Most of my meals are very similar : protein + veggie, some kind of yogurt or fruit for dessert. We do not have a big casserole or slow cooker culture here in France, and I don’t like fried food or foods cooked in sauce, so most of my meals ressemble each other. A couple posts on what I like for Fall foods, or meals When I can cook are very typical for my blog.
People ! My blog helped me discover all kinds of new people. Firstly, I did a Real Life, Real People series, featuring my friends and family, Hilary, Peggy, Lori. and Liz. Normal women who inspire me !
I also discovered many new blogs. Here you can find the list of those who inspired me most in 2014.
Giving my blog a facelift is one of my 2015 goals. I am not very technically savvy, but would like more color, more pictures and generally make it more lively.
Thanks to all of you who have followed, read, commented or just stopped by even once, and I am looking forward to seeing you all in 2015 !
Happy New Year !
