Another French wedding + oysters

This past week flew by. The highlight was a family wedding this past weekend, in the South Western part of France. But before I get to the photo dump, I did get in all my workouts. NYC Marathon – 7 weeks went down very well.

Monday : 60 minutes of running including some sprints. It was supposed to rain, but it turned out very sunny on my lunch time run.

We had some excitement in our town that evening, because there was a fire and you could see it from our place. It was controlled quite quickly but it is still quite unsettling.

Tuesday : Full body workout with lots of squats and upper body work

Wednesday : Off

Thursday : Full body workout

Friday : 10K run + road trip. We had about 400 + miles to drive for my niece’s wedding. So, we brought (another) niece a long and had a fun road trip…

…before meeting up with lots of family members on Friday evening in a tapas bar. It was nice enough for us to eat outside.

Saturday : 60 minutes of running including some sprints. We had rented a house in the middle of a pine forest. This coastal town is swarmed with people in the summer, so it was wonderful to take advantage of the empty streets.

It was then time to get ready and we were off.

Two of three sister in laws :

Mass was followed by appetizers at an oyster bar / restaurant, over looking the ocean (I don’t like oysters but this area of France is famous for them) :

Moving on to dinner, in a tent on the beach :

Dinner was followed by lots of dancing until the wee hours of the morning.

Sunday : Informal lunch for those still around….

…and lounging all afternoon with this view :

I have spared you the hundreds of family photos and selfies… wanting to give you a flavor of a French wedding.

So here is just one, with my preferred SIL. You can see the Pyla Sand Dune in the back.

And that is a wrap !

I am linking up with Holly and Tricia at Hoho runs and Misssippipiddlin for their Weekly Wrap.

Tell me one thing about your week! Do you like oysters ? Any family weddings this summer ?

Such fun wedding pictures, you have a beautiful family!
Love wedding pictures, I’m having withdrawls from not having done any weddings with my business while I put it on hold for a couple of years, I miss them and this one looked like it was a beautiful one!

Kind of eerie that you look like your SIL! You all look so lovely (as does all the wedding photos).

I’m ok with cooked oysters. Just like I won’t eat a lobster, but I’ll have a lobster roll. Some of it is how lobster are cooked, the other is it’s not worth the messiness and work to me!

Sounds like training is going great!

Ha ! Oysters are raw in France… always. Which is exactly why I don’t eat them ! Lobster I can do but I am too lazy to clean it.

That wedding looks gorgeous. Glad you enjoyed. I’ve never tried oysters. Because I won’t. Haha!

The wedding looks gorgeous and it looks like you all had a great time! It’s nice to get to run somewhere where you have the space all to yourself! I’m glad that you weren’t impacted by that nearby fire…that is definitely unsettling!

Your photos are wonderful and you looked gorgeous for the wedding. Love your dress! I wish you could have joined us at DL Paris races, but honestly this looks like an amazing wedding and party with your relatives. There is always next year.

What a beautiful wedding. The location is gorgeous. I would eat the oysters (with crackers and cocktail sauce) and all of the other food in the pics. You and your family look so lovely. Thanks for linking, Karen.

    • Karen - Fit in France October 1, 2016 at 6:22 am Reply

Oysters in France are 100% eaten raw. Sometimes with some bread and butter. Not sure most Americans like them that way….
