A bit about me

Welcome to French Inspiration !

A 40 something American from Maine, I have lived in France for almost 25 years. I came to Europe because I wanted to work internationally and ended up marrying a Frenchman. Living in France has taught me the importance of enjoying life, not sweating the small stuff, moderation, family time, great food, wine, the value of vacation and that life is not black or white.

Fitness and healthy living became more important to me as I got older. Once I hit 35 I had a wake up call about my health and the importance of taking care of body and mind.

I am currently training for my first marathon, the Paris Marathon on April 3, 2016, and am loving the experience of the journey.

Besides running, I do yoga, lift weights and occasionally swim. I follow the 80/20 rule when it comes to eating clean. The 20% is mostly chocolate or wine!

I wanted to start a blog to keep myself accountable for my (generally) healthy lifestyle, and possibly inspire others with ideas, tips and tricks I have learned over the years of living in France.

Thanks for your visit !

Let me know what you think.

Yay! Nice blog. Found you from Judy in Chocolaterunsjudy in her post https://wordpress.com/read/feeds/35818254/posts/981974872 post who I also follow. Also that is so awesome you live in Maine and lived in France for so long. My grandparents use to have a house in Maine when I was a little girl. I live in NJ, and they moved here a while back (they’re sadly gone now), but I am definitely visiting Maine again one day in the future. I’d love to visit France too if possible! I have some cousins who live in Poland so hoping one day I’ll take a big Europe trip.

I love your blog intro. Will have to dive into some posts. I’m (trying) to start trail running, was a casual runner for a while, and have a blue belt in jiu jitsu. I also just bought a hybrid bike (like literally I’m staring at my email because it’s supposed to arrive today).

I agree with your chocolate and wine stance. I think we’ll get along just fine! 😉
