2016 Race season

One of my objectives for 2016 is to run a race every month. For the moment, I have races scheduled until the end of June. The second half of the year races will depend on how the first half goes. So here is what is currently on my schedule :

My birthday is in January and we usually go away with my husband for a ski weekend. However, I didn’t think that was a good idea, in the middle of marathon training, so we decided (well, I decided) on a race weekend in the south of France instead. I will be running the “Sun Run Half marathon” that goes from Nice to Monaco.

The race reason picks up a bit and there are some races in the Vincennes forest, where I usually run.

February 7th : Les Foulees de Vencennes, 10K.

February 21 : Les Foullees de Charenton (my home town) 15K (this is the photo from last year, the new one is not available). The starting line is literally a 2 minute walk from my front door. I have a long run scheduled that weekend, so the 15K will be part of that.

Well, the Paris half marathon is on my schedule for March 6 but I already know I can not run it. I have a big 10 day trip for work, with no flexibility in the dates. I will be back on the 12th, probably too jet lagged to run a race the 13th.  I have lots of options for half marathons on the 20th so I will decide as the date gets closer.

The 3rd is my marathon. I will be running it instead of spectating it.

I was afraid of having the blues after my marathon, so I signed up for a big destination race for May 22. It is a 25K race with lots of hills and over the Millau viaduct in the southeastern part of France.

Doesn’t that look amazing ? Once my marathon is over I will need to train on hills.

There are so many to choose from and I usually run several but I was looking for something new, so I signed up for a 15K around Versailles. All of the race is through the Versailles park and around the chateau.

I am sure I will squeeze in another one here and there but I am very excited about my current schedule.

What is on your race schedule the first 6 months of the year ?

I am so so jealous of the cool races you get to run! I could totally move to Europe for 6 months and run all the races. Have fun!

Drooling. Drooling. None of my races compare to your choices.

Some day, I need to win the lottery and run in France. If I do, I’ll ask you to pick one awesome race for me.
